Satleo Labs, a spacetech startup based in Ahmedabad, has sent TAPAS-1 (Thermal Access Platform for Analytics & Solutions-1) into orbit on SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket as part of the Transporter-18 rideshare mission. It is India's first commercial thermal-imaging payload built by a private firm. TAPAS-1 is a modular CubeSat payload weighing 1.5 kg that reads Earth's surface temperatures by sensing thermal infrared radiation, data useful for agriculture, urban heat studies and resource monitoring.
