Save

Tamil Nadu has notified three new elephant corridors in the Cauvery North Wildlife Sanctuary, Hosur Forest Division. They are part of the trans-Cauvery route Asian elephants use to move between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The Jawalagiri–Ulibanda–Thaggatti corridor is 18.50 km long and covers 3,241.53 hectares; Jawalagiri–Panai–Anchetty is 20.90 km and covers 6,881.47 hectares; and Bilikkal–Jawalagiri is 2.20 km and covers 196 hectares. All three lie inside reserved forest and sanctuary limits, so no private, public or revenue village land is affected.
