Tamil Nadu Agriculture Minister R. Vinoth announced a set of farm infrastructure and farmer-support steps in the Assembly. Nine seed storage warehouses will be built in 7 districts at ₹11.64 crore to protect seed quality, germination and vigour. Four new Sub-Agricultural Extension Centres with seed storage will come up at ₹2.85 crore to bring quality inputs closer to villages. Farmers will get 28,500 beekeeping boxes and 2,850 honey extraction units costing ₹6.84 crore. Five Farmer Producer Organisations will get subsidies for refrigerated cargo vehicles, and 100 FPOs will be helped to buy electronic moisture meters.
