Chennai-based Aheesa Digital Innovations has achieved first-pass silicon success for VIHAAN, its indigenous broadband System-on-Chip (SoC). The chip is built on the open RISC-V (Reduced Instruction Set Computer–V) architecture and runs on the 64-bit VEGA processor developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). First-pass success means the chip worked as designed in its very first fabrication run, a notable step for India's domestic semiconductor design ecosystem.
