India and Lesotho reviewed the full range of their bilateral cooperation at the Joint Bilateral Commission for Cooperation held recently in Delhi. Their ties span many sectors and rest on a shared commitment to South-South cooperation. The next session will take place in Maseru in 2027. Lesotho is a landlocked nation entirely surrounded by South Africa, known as the "Kingdom in the Sky" or "Mountain Kingdom". It is the only country lying wholly above 1,400 m, with over 80% of its area above 1,800 m, and is the largest of the three independent states enclaved within another country, alongside Vatican City and San Marino.
