The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has launched a Moonshot Project to build brain co-processors that combine neuromorphic hardware with Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms. Brain co-processors are devices that connect with different parts of the brain to enhance or restore its functions. The project will develop an AI-powered closed-loop device that can restore smooth and coordinated movement. The technology is intended to aid cognitive rehabilitation and to restore sensorimotor functions in people who have survived a stroke.
