The Digital India BHASHINI Division, together with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, has built text-to-speech models for Sourashtra. Sourashtra is a minority Indo-Aryan language whose speakers are mainly the Sourashtra community living in Tamil Nadu. Such models turn written Sourashtra text into spoken audio, helping carry this minority language onto digital platforms.
