Save
Scientists of the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) have discovered a new frog species, Amolops kamal, also called the Nagaland Cascade Frog, in Kiphire district of Nagaland near the Myanmar border. The species belongs to the genus Amolops, which has 90 recognised species worldwide, of which 20 are recorded in India. Cascade frogs of this group typically live along fast-flowing hill streams, and the find adds to the amphibian diversity of the North-East.
