World Physiotherapy Day is marked every year on 8 September to highlight the importance of physiotherapy in rehabilitation, mobility, pain management and better quality of life. The 2026 theme is "the role of physiotherapy and physical activity in the prevention, management, and rehabilitation of cardiovascular disease and stroke". The day encourages people to recognise how physiotherapists help patients recover function and stay active.
