Speaking at the International Vallalar Conference hosted by the HR&CE Department, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin said the birth anniversary of Ramalinga Swamigal, known as Vallalar, will henceforth be celebrated over three days each year. The HR&CE headquarters in Chennai will house a research centre dedicated to Vallalar, while the department is also set to publish his book 'Spiritual Alchemy'. New Vallalar Annadhanam Centres are planned at Mettukuppam, Karunguzhi and Marudhur. In north Chennai, Thiruvottiyur High Road now carries the name Vallalar High Road.
