Two stone sculptures of Jain Tirthankaras have been discovered near Lalgudi in Tiruchirappalli district, Tamil Nadu. One was found at Neikuppai village and the other at Pudur Uthamanur village. Both figures are believed to date to the later Chola period. Each Tirthankara is shown seated in the meditative ardha-paryankasana posture, with elongated ear lobes and a triple umbrella carved above the head. The Neikuppai sculpture is about 80 cm tall, while the Pudur Uthamanur sculpture measures about 112 cm in height.
