Thane Creek Flamingo Sanctuary to Become India's First AI-Powered Bird Sanctuary

Save
India's first bird sanctuary powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being developed at the Thane Creek Flamingo Sanctuary (TCFS) in Mumbai, Maharashtra. AI tools can help monitor bird numbers and movements, track habitat conditions and support quicker conservation decisions. The sanctuary is a recognised Ramsar Site, meaning it is a wetland of international importance, and it is an important stopover on the Central Asian Flyway, a migratory route used by many birds travelling between Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent. It is famous for the large flocks of flamingos that gather there.
