Tamil Nadu will draft a State-level Public Sector Innovation Policy along with a State Innovation Index. A team from the Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission (SPC) visited the UNICEF Office of Innovation and the OECD in Paris, and a Letter of Intent was exchanged between the SPC and UNICEF. With this, Tamil Nadu became the first sub-national government anywhere to form a strategic partnership with international agencies for public sector innovation. The OECD will help build innovation frameworks and monitoring systems, while a sectoral expert working group will steer policy drafting and implementation.
