Tamil Nadu is rolling out a strategic roadmap to restore soil health and support sustainable agriculture. Soil fertility is being boosted through the Soil Health and Fertility Scheme, budgeted at about ₹206 crore. The plan encourages green manure cultivation, with seeds to be spread over roughly 2 lakh acres benefiting more than 2 lakh farmers, and a ₹20 crore start-up fund for soil improvement. The State has already issued over 15.25 million Soil Health Cards. The roadmap aims at climate resilience and long-term food security.
