The Tamil Nadu government has identified 41 elephant corridors across the State and asked for three more months to finish studying and notifying them. The Wildlife Trust of India had earlier listed 17 corridors, while a State committee identified 41. The Forest Department is carrying out field inspections to decide which areas should be formally notified. The Madras High Court granted the extra three months and adjourned the hearing to December 4, 2026.
