Tamil Nadu constituted a 16-member State-level Steering Committee to prepare a Human Resources for Health strategy under the World Bank-backed Enhanced Health Service Delivery Program (EHSDP). It is chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary, Health, with the NHM Tamil Nadu Mission Director as Member Secretary. EHSDP follows the World Bank's Program-for-Results model, releasing funds against Disbursement-Linked Indicators. The strategy will address gaps in recruitment, training, deployment and retention of health staff.
