Tamil Nadu has notified the Cyber Crime Wing Headquarters in Chennai as the Tamil Nadu State Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (TN-S4C). It will act as the State nodal agency linking Union and State law enforcement bodies on cyber crime. The centre will help prevent, detect and investigate cyber offences, back prosecution and coordinate responses, besides enabling intelligence sharing, capacity building and cyber forensic support. The step follows a Supreme Court suo motu writ petition order of 1 December 2025 dealing especially with “Digital Arrest” cases, after which the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) asked States and Union Territories to set up such State-level nodal centres.
