Under Rule 110 in the Assembly, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister announced a world-class Olympic City in Chennai, to be built by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) at Semmencheri on the OMR corridor, the site earlier chosen for the Global Sports City. SDAT will also set up a Talent Research Wing and Olympic Centres of Excellence at 10 places in the State. A separate Motor Sports City with an international-standard racing circuit able to host Formula 1, 2, 3 and 4 events was announced to boost sports tourism.
