The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu unveiled the Tamil Nadu Semiconductor Ecosystem Scheme 2026 in Chennai. Its goal is to position the State as a front-runner in semiconductor and advanced electronics manufacturing in India while drawing fresh investment. The scheme has two categories: extra incentives for projects already cleared under the Union government's semiconductor scheme, and assistance for other eligible projects that matter to the State's semiconductor ecosystem. It is designed to work alongside the Centre's Semicon India Programme 2.0, cleared on 15 July 2026, which spans the whole value chain — designing chips, fabricating wafers, equipment and raw materials, R&D and skilling.
