Tamil Nadu announced 'Arivagam', India's first dedicated Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Innovation City, in its 2026–27 Budget, with ₹5 crore for a feasibility study.
Arivagam will have an AI University, an International Skill Development Centre, a semiconductor hardware testing laboratory, multi-domain innovation incubators and residential facilities, to boost AI, deep-tech research, start-ups and skills. The State will also launch Guidance 3.0, an AI-powered investment service, and upgrade its Single Window Portal to version 3.0 for all industrial approvals.
