In a first, the Madras High Court will deploy an AI-assisted system named 'Superlaw Courts' to extract relevant information from case records and speed up hearings and disposal. The tool works only on documents filed in a particular case inside a sealed digital workspace, converts scanned papers to searchable text through OCR, and does not draw on outside sources. Its AI component only summarises retrieved passages, adds no new facts and openly says when the record lacks an answer. It is meant to assist, not replace, judicial reasoning or a lawyer's judgement.
