The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology launched SATYA, a lab automation portal for the Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) Directorate. It brings testing, certification and quality assurance services onto one digital platform to cut delays and improve transparency, benefiting startups, MSMEs and industry. Separately, Indian scientists built a photo-rechargeable supercapacitor using nickel-cobalt oxide nanowires on nickel foam that harvests and stores solar energy in one unit, giving about 1.2 V and retaining 88% capacitance after 1,000 cycles.
