The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully demonstrated Solid Fuel Ducted Ramjet (SFDR) missile technology. SFDR is a propulsion system meant for long-range air-to-air missiles. In the test, a ground booster first accelerated the missile, after which the ramjet motor ignited in flight to sustain propulsion. The technology is key to giving Indian missiles longer range and higher speed.
