The Tamil Nadu government signed Memoranda of Understanding worth ₹5,980 crore to boost semiconductor and aerospace manufacturing in the State. Under one agreement, Japan's MinebeaMitsumi will put ₹1,980 crore into a manufacturing and R&D centre at Mahindra Origins Industrial Park in Tiruvallur district, producing Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBT), integrated circuits, motors and sensors. A separate MoU was signed with the Aequs Group to strengthen aerospace manufacturing. The investments support Tamil Nadu's push to become a hub for electronics and high-technology industries.
