Chief Minister M.K. Stalin laid the foundation stone for a Global Sports City in Chennai, a project estimated to cost ₹261 crore. The facility is intended to give the State world-class sporting infrastructure for training athletes and hosting national and international competitions. The project builds on Tamil Nadu's recent efforts to position Chennai as a major destination for sports events and to widen opportunities for young sportspersons across the State.
