Tamil Nadu has announced a Social Justice Welfare Board for the welfare of Dalits. The Board will extend financial help for education, medical treatment and marriages. The State unveiled 67 measures under the Social Justice Department, including the construction of 150 social justice hostels at a cost of ₹160 crore. A Tribal Cultural Centre will also be set up in the Nilgiris to widen tribal research activities.
