The Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs inaugurated the restored Muzhiyan Kulam, a historic pond in Pooranankuppam, Puducherry.
The 2-acre pond is about 400 years old and is believed to date back to the Pallava period. It has traditionally supplied the village with drinking water and water for irrigation, and contains four natural spring-fed wells. The restoration revives a traditional water body that supports local water security.
