A rare sea slug, Discodoris cebuensis, has been recorded for the first time in India at Haji Ali in Mumbai. Sea slugs are soft-bodied marine gastropods that lack a shell and live mainly in reef habitats. Because they are sensitive to changes in their surroundings, their presence is regarded as an indicator of a healthy marine ecosystem. The new record adds to India's documented marine biodiversity along the western coast.
