A rare caracal has been recorded during a wildlife survey in Kuno National Park, Madhya Pradesh. The caracal is among the rarest wild cat species in India and is adapted to grasslands, scrublands and dry habitats. The sighting is significant for Kuno, which is also known for the reintroduction of cheetahs, as it points to the presence of other elusive dryland carnivores in the landscape.
