Punjab has become the first State in India to bring Artificial Intelligence (AI) into schools as a mainstream subject for all classes from I to XII. The step is being taken under the Sarbat.AI initiative of the State government. Its aim is to build an AI-literate student community that is innovation-minded and equipped with digital and technological skills from an early age. By placing AI in the regular curriculum rather than as an optional activity, Punjab seeks to prepare students for a job market increasingly shaped by new technologies.
