India took part in the first Partners for Multilateralism (P4M) Summit, held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. P4M is a coalition of middle powers, regional organisations and developing countries that aims to strengthen multilateral cooperation. The European Union, Brazil, Canada and Kenya are its founding initiators, while India, Australia and Barbados joined as initial co-sponsors and participants. The group seeks reform of the UN and global financial institutions and focuses on issues such as Artificial Intelligence, climate change, pandemics, supply-chain resilience and digital transformation.
