The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority has launched the NPS Swasthya Pension Scheme on a pilot basis to combine health-related financial benefits with the National Pension System. Subscribers can use it to meet both outpatient and inpatient medical expenses. It is a voluntary, contributory scheme operated under the Multiple Scheme Framework (MSF) of NPS. By linking retirement savings with healthcare spending, the pilot seeks to help subscribers handle medical costs without disturbing their long-term pension corpus.
