Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve set to become Madhya Pradesh's third cheetah habitat

Save

Madhya Pradesh is preparing a third home for cheetahs: the Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve (VDTR). The State's first two cheetah sites are Kuno National Park and Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary, both in Madhya Pradesh. VDTR, which is also called the Nauradehi Tiger Reserve, spreads over roughly 2,339 sq km. Its area falls across three districts of the State, namely Sagar, Damoh and Narsinghpur. Once ready, the reserve will add to the habitats available for the cheetah reintroduction effort within Madhya Pradesh.
