The International Space Station (ISS) made a rare solar transit visible from Palavakkam in Chennai, moving across the face of the Sun for roughly 1.38 seconds. A solar transit happens when an object passes directly between an observer and the Sun, so that it briefly shows up as a dark silhouette against the solar disc. The event lasted only a little over a second as seen from the Chennai suburb.
