The Union Environment Minister presented India's first PRAMAAN certificates under the Indian Forest and Wood Certification Scheme (IFWCS). Recipients were the Andhra Pradesh Forest Development Corporation, for 33,000 hectares of plantations, and a bamboo farmer from Odisha. Launched by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in December 2023, IFWCS certifies sustainable management of forests, wood and non-timber forest products. Certification follows the National Working Plan Code 2023 with independent field and management audits, aiding global market access and forest-dependent livelihoods.
