The Regenagri programme will be rolled out in South Indian tea estates to promote regenerative agriculture and environmental sustainability. About 50–60 tea gardens in India, including 10 in South India, are part of it, and it is being implemented with the United Planters Association of Southern India (UPASI). Launched for tea estates in December 2024, the programme usually runs for three years and promotes soil health, biodiversity, carbon sequestration and better water and energy use. Certified farmers report 10–20% higher yields, FPOs cut input costs through bulk buying, and carbon credits offer extra income. Regenagri is also used for cotton in Maharashtra.
