The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister introduced mandatory 'Presence-less Registration' for the first registration of housing plots and apartments. Buyers, sellers and witnesses can file documents online without going to the Registrar's Office, and their Aadhaar cards are uploaded and verified digitally. Registrars must act within 24 hours, either registering the document, returning it for correction or rejecting it. Every page carries a QR code, and a changing five-colour endorsement is meant to stop forgery. Once registered, the digital document appears in the beneficiary's login, while certified copies can be obtained after 60 days.
