The Mumbai suburban district administration in Maharashtra has launched the 'Saksham Skill Survey', described as India's first skill census powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI). The survey will assess the skills of young people in the district. Using AI to collect and analyse this information, the administration aims to understand the skill levels of local youth and use the findings to improve their employability. The exercise is seen as a model for using technology to plan skill development at the district level.
