The Union Ministry of Science and Technology has developed Path Gennie, free open-source software meant to speed up drug discovery. Because the code is open, researchers and start-ups can use and adapt it without licence costs. Such tools cut the time and money spent on finding drug candidates in the early stages, which supports India's pharmaceutical research base.
