Authorities will carry out spatial mapping and field verification of military installations inside the Changthang Cold Desert Wildlife Sanctuary in Ladakh. The survey will rely on GPS, GIS, geo-referencing and satellite imagery, and will be done along with the police and defence establishment. Wildlife officials will also scientifically map critical habitats and animal movement corridors. The statutory rights determination process will restart, but it will not allow fresh encroachment or unauthorised construction after the applicable cut-off dates.
