Project 17A: MDL Completes Delivery of Fourth Stealth Frigate
In April 2026, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) delivered the advanced stealth frigate ‘Mahendragiri’ (Y-12654) to the Indian Navy. This vessel is the sixth ship under Project 17A (Nilgiri-class) and marks the completion of all Project 17A warships constructed at MDL. The ship, named after a mountain peak in Odisha, was designed by the Warship Design Bureau (WDB), marking their 100th vessel design.
