A.P. Moller–Maersk has planned to carry out its first drydocking in India at Larsen & Toubro's (L&T) Kattupalli Shipyard, located near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The ship chosen for the work is Maersk Chattogram, a container vessel registered under the flag of Singapore, and the drydocking is scheduled for October 2026. Drydocking is the process of taking a ship out of the water so that it can be examined, serviced and repaired. Kattupalli thus becomes the site of the company's first such operation in the country.
