Karnataka has launched India's first State-led Centre of Excellence for Space Technology in Bengaluru. It has been set up by the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society in collaboration with SIA-India (Satcom Industry Association-India). The centre will promote advanced research, innovation, industry-aligned training and talent development in space technologies. It will also support start-up incubation, ecosystem building and the use of space technology across sectors. A key goal is to turn research into commercial products, generating economic growth and jobs, and to bridge the gap between laboratory work and market-ready solutions.
