Union Minister Jitendra Singh launched BIO-NIVESH in New Delhi, a platform that connects biotechnology startups with investors. It seeks to draw more private investment into biotech innovations that are ready to scale up and reach the market. The first edition featured 20 biotech and deep-tech startups and about 50 investors. Under the ₹1 lakh crore Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Fund, BIRAC acts as Second-Level Fund Manager for biotechnology and allied sectors. Future editions are planned in other cities to build regional ecosystems.
