Writer Jeyamohan has announced a new literary honour, the Living Tamil Award for World Literature. It carries a prize of ₹1 crore (about $100,000), placing it among the largest literary awards in India. The award will honour outstanding works of Indian and world literature across languages and genres, and the winner will be announced simultaneously in New Delhi and New York City. The initiative reflects efforts within Tamil Nadu's literary circles to build independent platforms for recognising writers.
