The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister is set to inaugurate Ranipet district's first car manufacturing unit at the SIPCOT industrial complex in Panapakkam. It will be the first facility in India to make luxury Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) models. JLR is owned by Tata Motors and is focusing on electric vehicles. The plant strengthens Tamil Nadu's position as a leading automobile manufacturing hub.
