The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has successfully completed its first expedition to Mount Everest made up entirely of women. All 11 women mountaineers in the team reached the 8,848-metre summit, climbing by the South Col Route. The achievement highlights the growing role of women in India's Central Armed Police Forces and the mountaineering capability of the ITBP, which guards the high-altitude India-China border.
