The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully carried out three major tests on the crew module systems of the Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission. All three tests were aimed at crew safety: uprighting the crew module after it splashes down at sea, separation of the umbilical mechanism, and separation of the apex cover. Each of these systems must work reliably before Indian astronauts can be flown and safely recovered.
