The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully carried out the second Integrated Air Drop Test, called IADT-02, as part of preparations for the Gaganyaan mission. The test was conducted at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. Gaganyaan is India's human spaceflight programme, and air drop tests of this kind are used to check how the crew module and its parachute-based recovery system behave during descent, so that astronauts can return safely to Earth. Completing IADT-02 marks another step in qualifying the systems needed before a crewed flight.
