The International Day of Women Judges is observed every year on 10 March to promote the equal participation of women in the judiciary and to increase their presence in courts and in judicial leadership positions. No Smoking Day is observed every year on 11 March to encourage people to give up tobacco and to adopt healthier lifestyles. Both days were marked this week, drawing attention to gender balance on the bench and to the health risks of tobacco use.
